Now, a new kind of retaliation has been made public, and it’s supposedly stopping the manufacture of iPhones. iPhone manufacturer informed suppliers that China has begun enforcing a long-standing requirement that Taiwanese-manufactured parts and components must be identified as made either in “Taiwan, China” or “Chinese Taipei.” Despite the fact that Apple’s products are marked “Designed by Apple in California, Assembled in China,” it’s feasible that shipping documentation can indicate Taiwan as the country of origin. It is likely that all that would need to be altered to allow shipping is the documentation.
