The company has changed its direction ever since the success of GTA V. So far, the game has received no single-player updates but has given us a sneak peek into the current life of Franklin with The Contract Update and little Trevor cameos here and there. GTA Online, however, is filled with microtransactions and in-game items for exorbitant rates for which players have to either grind or succumb to using Shark Cards.

Rockstar Games Prepping for a GTA Definitive Edition Trilogy Update?

As for the GTA Definitive Edition Trilogy, it was nothing short of a disaster on launch. The package includes three iconic GTA titles such as GTA 3, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas, but the definitive edition hardly did any justice for the game. We got to experience a really buggy experience with players running into invisible objects, outsourcing the game to Grove Street Games, the now famous invisible bridge of GTA San Andreas, clipping through the game world, and the terrible immersion-ruining draw distance of GTA: San Andreas, horrible NPC models, and weapon animations that would glitch out. Rockstar did roll out a patch that fixed some issues for the game, but the damage has already been done. Still, there’s new information that suggests that a new update could be coming soon for the GTA Definitive Edition Trilogy. This could give hope to fans in regards to further improvements in terms of glitches and graphical fidelity, but that’s all we can hope for. Still, we could be wrong. SteamDB was recently updated which suggests some changes to the GTA Definitive Edition Trilogy. It might be possible that Rockstar and Grove Street Games are yet again busy preparing for a new update for the GTA Definitive Edition Trilogy. https://twitter.com/videotech_/status/1560033069205184514?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1560033069205184514%7Ctwgr%5E9c3eb7f70adc4c59ecf180345f3c94a51026e8a6%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Ftech4gamers.com%2Frockstar-big-update-gta-trilogy%2F While these changes might seem minor on the surface, it appears that all three games were updated at the same time. It’s possible that Rockstar ignored the title initially, but it might have been because of the update’s size. The GTA Definitive Edition Trilogy has loads of problems. The game is still buggy, the performance on PC is straight up abysmal, and the art direction is something we weren’t hoping for. The developers would indeed need a bit of time to address these issues as soon as they’re done selling shark cards and fixing the easily solvable GTA Online problems such as the disappearing vehicles when prompted to store a car in an already full garage. The original trilogy of GTA games was removed from Steam, and to make matters worse, Rockstar Games has delisted The GTA Definitive Edition trilogy from the same platform. The new changes do indicate that a fresh number of improvements are coming to Rockstar’s failed remasters, and the game could very well be re-released. It’s quite possible that Grove Street Games and Rockstar are planning to release an overhaul update for the game along with a Steam re-release for the GTA Definitive Edition Trilogy.

Rockstar Games Cancels Remasters and is Working on GTA 6

It’s pretty apparent that the gaming industry and community were pretty disappointed at the release of the  GTA Definitive Edition Trilogy, but it’s quite possible that the developers are trying to right their wrongs. Things seemed to go downhill after this release as Rockstar Games ultimately cancelled the GTA 4 and Red Dead Redemption Remasters after the failure of the GTA Definitive Edition Trilogy. It’s likely that these games were outsourced with a tacky art direction similar to the former title. Rockstar might have clearly noticed the industry’s reaction. So, a potential update is quite plausible, but it still remains to be seen if Rockstar and Grove Street Games can put in the effort to redeem themselves. Meanwhile, GTA 6 rumours are getting out of hand this time around, and the gaming community is looking forward to a much anticipated GTA 6 announcement. And that’s pretty much it for the GTA Definitive Edition Trilogy Update news.
